Review

Looking for reliable, compact reference on Nazi Germany's legendary Schnellbomber?  Kagero's Junkers Ju 88 Vol I packs plenty of pith into Junkers Ju 88 Vol I. This is a revised edition of the title we reviewed eight years ago here.

The heavily illustrated monograph begins with an exciting account of III./KG 30's devastating attack on Greece's Piraeus Harbor in April 1941.  Coverage then segues to Ju 88 design and development, before shifting to thumbnail lists of derivatives – bomber, fighter and Mistel versions.

Notes on "technical features", RLM camouflage paint and markings schemes follow.  Photos, color profiles, technical data and bibliography further season the sumptuous study.  And beautiful drawings to 1:96, 1:72, and 1:48 – the last a separate sheet – complete contents.

Finally, with the inclusion of 1:72 and 1:48 vinyl canopy masks, it's directly useful for painting Ju 88 model projects!

Recommended.

My sincere thanks to Casemate for this review sample!
