Approximately 10 years before the Cylon's devastating assault on the Twelve Colonies, a quorum of five of the Colonial fleet's top Admirals conspired secretly to an agenda of creating new and more powerful Battlestar assets. These new ships would be the primary units to initiate a possible first strike on Cylon targets to counter any imminent threat of Cylon attack. This secret collaboration worked together under the Project name "AEGIS". These new classes of ships, 5 in total were built in 5 separate locations; construction was supervised by one quorum member per class. The Havocs being constructed in orbit of Ophion, sometimes referred to as the rouge planet of Helios Gamma, under the supervision of Admiral Ferris. Construction materials were routed through Ragnar station and were hidden from normal command chain operations under the premise of "spares and supplies". The Battlestar TALOS's design formula was based on the successful Valkyrie class with certain operating deficiencies of the Valkyries being addressed in the new Havoc class. This new vessel was built more than twice the size, thus upgraded from the patrol and escort duty role originally intended for the Vals to a full Battlestar classification, the increased overall length now being 1357 meters. The addition of dual inverted flight pods, increased belly armour and ventral engine pods greatly increasing the defensive and operating capabilities. Two, forward firing, large calibre, rapid firing missile tubes would make the Havoc class ideal for the role of Planetary Assault, with the ability to shower its target with multiple, independently targeted, nuclear warheads. The addition of two FTL field compression foils would give the TALOS an extended jump range almost three times that of other fleet units. It is unclear what the fate of the Battlestar TALOS, the only Havoc class ship to be completed, or any of the other "AEGIS" secret agenda ships, was, as all records and personnel connected to the AEGIS project are presumed lost in the Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies. Some theorists speculate that the completed ships were assigned to the vaguely rumoured "Shadow Fleet", but this of course, to this day, remains unconfirmed. The model is a Bam Bam Poseidon resin kit , with hand made add on lower section that includes the lower landing bay arms and new lower nose section.
