AMT/Ertl kitbash/scratchbuild; Kit number – n.a.; Subject and Scale – Star Trek Federation Patrol Cruiser, USS Peacekeeper (Starstalker Class); Scale – 1/537. The Starstalker Class is a fan-created Star Trek starship design. It was published in the publication Starfleet Prototypes - The Journal of Innovative Design and Ideas by David Schmidt & Mastercom Data Center in 1992. This model was reproduced by kitbashing and scratchbuilding techniques. The kit used was Ertl/AMT's Starship Reliant (1/537 scale) for the upper saucer hull and nacelle engines. These parts were heavily modified however. The lower hull was mostly scratchbuilt using styrene and various other materials (35mm film canister, prescription medicine bottle, ping-pong ball), modeling putty, and various pieces from my spare parts box. The paint job was accomplished using spray cans, airbrush, and hand brush painting. The "Aztek" paneling effect was accomplished using Walker Enterprises Templates, frisket, and simple masking tape. The decals are a mix of the Ertl kit-supplied decals, some homemade decals, generic aftermarket decals, and custom decals from JTGraphics.
