If you've been modeling a while (and I have), you've heard of, or perhaps have one or more Xuron tools on your work bench. One of their more popular tools for scale modelers is their sprue cutters. Here is another useful tool for modelers and model railroaders - the micro-forming plier. This tool as a sharp (non-cutting) edge on one side and a v-groove on the other.
For modelers, this is a handy tool to bend photo-etched parts that don't require complex bends. This will put a quick 90 degree bend where you need it. For the model railroader, this tool is good for bending the thicker wire used with couplers and need periodic adjustment to keep them from hanging up in the tracks.
This tool is ideal for bending and shaping parts, primarily metal parts, but if used carefully, they can be handy with other materials as well. If you're looking for another useful tool for your bench, take a look at this plier at your local hobby store.
If you pay a visit to the Xuron website, you'll find a wide range of tools for a large number of applications. I'm happy that the hobby industry is one of those target audiences! These tools are available from your local hobby retailer or online hobby store.
My sincere thanks to Xuron for this review sample!
