First-Look
When we had the pleasure of playing with, er, reviewing the Harder and Steenbeck (infinity) double-action airbrush ( look here), the folks were kind enough to send along an air hose to accompany the airbrush. This is the first hobby air hose I've seen that came equipped with a quick disconnect.
The hoses I've seen and used from other manufacturers had standard screw-on fittings for their airbrushes and this makes sense since most of them were designed before the availability of the quick-disconnect fittings in this size. The Harder and Steenbeck series airbrushes come out of the case with the quick-disconnects in place and it makes perfect sense to provide an airhose so-equipped as well.
You might think the retail price is higher than standard airbrush hoses and you'd be correct, but by the time you acquire the quick-disconnect adapter to go with the airbrush, you've spent this much or more for the same capability. The hose has a nice quality braided shroud along the full length of the hose, a standard 1/4 inch compressor adaptor on one end and the current standard for quick-disconnect connector on the other. It works perfectly with my Iwata and other airbrushes equipped with various aftermarket quick-disconnect adapters.
This airhose as well as Harder and Steenbeck airbrushes are available from a growing number of retailers (including online stores). You can learn more about the company and its products here: http://www.germanairbrush.com/
My sincere thanks to Harder and Steenbeck for this review sample!
