Review
Squadron/Signal has released a new In Action covering the F4U Corsair in all of its variants from early war prototype to post-Korean War attack aircraft. This title starts off with a brief introduction of the early days of the Corsair and walks through the development and differences of each of the production models.
This title is well illustrated with period photos including numerous black and white as well as some color photos from World War 2, many more color photos of the aircraft during the Korean War, and many color photos of the aircraft in French service as well as numerous restored (and not-so-restored) warbirds.
In addition to detail photos including nice cockpit shots, this title provides scrap drawings of the principal differences between the current version under discussion and its predecessor.
The title is an excellent resource for modeler and historian alike. If you have one of the new Tamiya 1/32 kits or one of the many kits available in all of the popular scales, this is a handy reference for details as well as subject selection for that next project. This title is definitely recommended!
My sincere thanks to Squadron/Signal Publications for this review sample!
