Review
With each of the Walk Around series from Squadron Signal Publications, you get some great reference photos taken up-close from a number of different angles in as many areas of a given airframe as feasible. In this release, the author has compiled a solid mix of current and period images of the aircraft across a number of production variants.
As with each of the walk arounds, the author examines different sections of the interior and exterior of the aircraft using period photos as well as photos of museum and warbird airframes. The one aspect of this combination that I found distracting was that many of the contemporary photos were either converted to black and white or were subjected to color editing tools to remove most of the color from the images. I recognize some of the aircraft from museums that I've visited in the past and understand the challenges of museum lighting mixed with camera flash for illumination, but I'm not quite sold on the partial removal of color in the publication of these images.
Nevertheless, you'll find the images and coverage in this title to be quite useful for building and detailing either the Revell 1/32, Monogram 1/48, or Hasegawa 1/72 scale kits. This will be a handy reference when I start my Heinkel projects in the near future.
This title is definitely recommended!
My sincere thanks to Squadron/Signal Publications for this review sample!
