Review

In this fifth installment of Osprey's modeling series, the Matilda tank is the subject of this detailed modelers reference. The title looks at versions of the full-scale Matilda throughout the book with nice color photography. These photos help to illustrate key features and/or details of the kit build-ups presented in this book.

Some of the projects included are:

  • 1/76 A11 Matilda
  • 1/76 Matilda Mk.III, Malta
  • 1/35 Matilda Mk.IV, Australian
  • 1/35 British Desert Matilda
  • 1/35 German Matilda 'Oswald'

An excellent discussion of detailing, painting and weathering techniques is covered and illustrated with each project.

As with the previous titles in this series, a good reference is included for essential tools as well as available kit and aftermarket detail resources.

My sincere thanks to Motorbooks International for this review sample!
