Review
In the first title in this new Modelling Series, Osprey has covered an interesting subject for a variety of modelers - the Harrier. The author does a great job of providing a general overview of the tools and materials he uses, then dives into builds of the 1/72 Airfix P.1127 Kestral (Harrier prototype), 1/48 Airfix Harrier GR.3, and finally the huge Airfix 1/24 Sea Harrier FRS.1.
The author completes his coverage with a look at all of the kits and accessories available for all marks of the Harrier, a list of recommended books and references on the subject, and even provides some representative (printed) color chips.
The projects that the author undertakes in this interesting modeling reference include the Airfix 1/72 P.1127, Airfix 1/48 Harrier GR.3, and Airfix 1/24 Sea Harrier FRS.1. The contents include:
- Introduction
- Tools and materials
- Modelling the Harrier in 1/72
- Modelling the Harrier in 1/48
- Modelling the Harrier in 1/24
- Making a display base
- Kits and accessories available
- Further reading and research
- Museums, collections and reference
This book is a must-have for the aircraft modeler! You can purchase this and any of the Osprey series from Motorbooks or from your favorite bookstore.
