Review

Here is an interesting title that author Steven Zaloga has brought to life - the M18 Hellcat. What you probably know is that the M18 was a capable tank destroyer during WW2. What you may not know (and the title does not have a typo) is that M18s remained in service with a number of countries through at least 1997!

M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer 1943-97

In addition to the great historical research and operation history conveyed in this title, the author also provides production and combat photography, color profiles, and nice cut-away drawings. The title is broken down into the following topic areas:

  • Building the Perfect Tank Destroyer
  • Improving the M18
  • Into Combat
  • The M18 Tank Destroyer in the Pacific Theater
  • Assessing the M18 76mm GMC
  • M18 Gun Variants
  • The M18 in Post-War Service

This is a great title for armor buffs and modelers alike. Recommended!
