Review

Seeking to start one of those bargain-priced Accurate Miniatures Douglas SBD-1 Dauntless kits in your stash?

This eponymous effort will definitely help.

Now MMP admirably augments its new “Single” series of inexpensive monographs with a handy handbook on, arguably, the most colorful “Slow But Deadly” classic.

The compact, 24-page compendium includes six pages of 1:72 and 1:48-scale plans by co-author Karnas, and 15 pages of period, archival, and detail images – color and B&W. Three final pages of profile and plan views by Juszczak illustrate a 1940 USMC VMB-2 Dauntless.

MMPBooks/Stratus recently announced that, in a pioneering move, it’s printing variations of “Single” titles with new artwork subjects. Consumers “can order the book with the choice of the cover and markings inside”.

First covers two new versions of NAA P-51D-5-NA Mustang – eleventh in the publisher’s range. Now you can choose a “Single” scheme!

With thanks to MMP for the review copy.
