Review
Author and illustrator Maciej Noszczak samples the sumptuous swath of Schnellbomber "Anton" schemes in the latest "Spotlight ON" survey from MMP Books.
And what cool, colorful compendium Junkers Ju 88 A is.
Coverage follows the publisher's proven prescription. After a one-page production and subtype summary, contents course through 42 beautifully executed color profiles – some with inset details.
Seeking project inspiration? Subjects span the range of Ju 88 A colors and markings. Here you'll find representative Nazi German, Romanian, Hungarian, and Finnish examples. Even a wildly warpainted Swiss Junkers appears.
Artwork quality and execution are uniformly excellent. Reference Noszczak's superbly realistic illustrations to help you weather and wear your Junkers kit. And his captions offer helpful comments.
Gripes? Is the background color of B3+MH on pages 25ff. really RLM 83? A few subject photos would be nice. And plan views of, say, the standard Ju 88 A RLM 70/71/65 splinter scheme would really make this a one-stop painting aid – especially for novice and casual Ju 88 modelers with limited libraries.
Recommended!
I want to thank MMP for this review sample.
