MMP kicks-off its new "Spotlight On" series with a colorful collection of Albatros Fighter Aircraft of WWI.
Artist Dave Douglass offers 41 beautifully rendered profiles showcasing all major Albatros types in Imperial German and captured Allied livery.
D.Is. D.IIs. D.IIIs. D.Vs. MMP superbly samples the sumptuous swath of Albatros warplane camouflage in just 44 pages. Grab those 1:48-scale Eduard kits!
Each entry details type, pilot, unit, location and date. A brief introduction and selected bibliography bracket artwork. And a page illustrating two examples of printed fabric ("lozenge") camouflage completes contents.
My biggest gripe? No plan views! MMP: will you please consider adding top and bottom perspectives – even tiny insets – to those pulchritudinous profiles?
Recommended!
With thanks to MMP for the review copy.
