Review
Author Amy Goodpaster Strebe and photographer Russ Bryant take us behind the scenes with the US Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
While the embedded reporters did a fantastic job of bringing viewers glimpses of the action and activity during combat operations, the author takes you between those video takes to show what day-to-day life and the conditions that these heroes endured. The table of contents frames the views that this color-packed photo chronicle covers:
- Desert Landing
- Early Warning
- Into the Frey, Part 1
- The Receiving Ward
- Dog Days
- Into the Frey, Part 2
- A Time For Prayer
- Wall Art
- Spare Time
- Stars & Stripes
- The PX
- Night Falls
This is a great title for families of those who were there, historians wanting to get this information while it is still fresh (and not re-interpreted) and for the modeler who would like to get the look and feel of the surroundings. Recommended!
