Review
Kagero has a different series of monographs that will interest the historian and modeler alike. The Aircraft and Aces Series profiles the lives and operational experiences of three aces. In this title, three World War Two Luftwaffe aces are profiled.
They include:
- Heinz Ewald, JG 52, 84 victories
- Walter Wolfrum, JG 52, 137 victories
- Werner Hohenberg, JG 2, 33 victories
Each of these pilots survived the war and recount key moments in their combat experiences for the authors (and readers). In addition to the great narratives, 21 black and white photos are provided to illustrate these men and their particular aircraft. In addition, color profiles are included for the Bf 109G-6 flown by Wolfrum, the three Bf 109s flown by Ewald and the Fw 190D-9 flown by Hohenberg.
As is customary for the Kagero series, a sheet of decals is included representing the subjects of the color profiles in the title. The markings for each of the five aircraft are provided in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scale.
You'll definitely want to add this title to your reference library. You can find Kagero books at your favorite hobby retailer.
