Review
Phil H. Listemann succinctly summarizes Commonwealth Mustang IV northern MTO operations in the 11th installment of his “Squadrons!” series – The North American Mustang Mk. IV over Italy and the Balkans.
Coverage commences with Mustang design notes – and swiftly segues to unit use. Principal squadron sections include operational time spans, sortie numbers, code letters, commanding officers and “usage”. Photos and extended captions accompany core coverage. And lists of enemy “kills” (confirmed and probable) and Mustang losses conclude main segments.
Listemann then moves to “with other fighter squadrons”, “with second line units” and “in memoriam” sections.
Modelers, however, will naturally migrate to the book’s final pages. That’s where they’ll find plenty of project inspiration in six superb Mustang IV profiles.
Mustang enthusiasts! File this informative précis under “recommended”!
My sincere thanks to Phil H. Listemann for the review sample.
