Review
Phil Listemann is back with Part 2 of the Hawker Fury in RAF service. We looked at Part 1 here. In this installment, the author picks up the operational service of the Fury Mk.2 with a look at each of the squadrons it was assigned during their relatively brief career up to Britain's entry into the war.
As with previous titles in this series, the author provides a list of aircraft lost in accidents, a list of ground instructional airframes, and an interesting list of squadron assignments by registration number. While some of the early examples saw service in multiple squadrons, a number of later Mark 2s were either not assigned or their records were lost. The title has a nice selection of period photographs of the aircraft in service as well as five color profiles illustrating the variety of color schemes carried as the aircraft marked the transition from peacetime to wartime paint schemes.
If you have the Fury Part 1, you'll want to get this title to complete the story. If you don't and you are a historian or modeler of RAF aircraft between the wars, you'll want to consider these for your library.
My sincere thanks to Phil H. Listemann for the review sample.
