Review

For 2011 Classic Warships has released another in a series of warship pictorial books, this time Steve Wiper brings us the Kriegsmarine Scharnhorst.  This book was released in conjunction with Dragon Model’s beautiful 1/350 scale German Battleship Scharnhorst model kit.  This very handy reference pictorial book is loaded with a 115 color and black and white photographs many of these have never been published.

A two page general history is presented from the Scharnhorst’s building contract in 1934 to its discovered wreck by the Norwegian Navy in 2000.  Included are many close up photos along with three very nice color profiles illustrated by Robert McCune which were used by Dragon Models as reference for the Scharnhorst model kit design.

Thanks goes out to Steve Wiper of classicwarships.com for the review sample!
