Aero Research has added a second aircraft monograph to their reference CD series. The previous subject was the Skyraider, this time around we have some great photos of the Lockheed Constellation.

This new photo CD features a variety of civil and military Connies in a wide range of colors. None of these photos are from the government photo archives, these are all compiled from the same excellent range of professional (or very skilled) aviation photographers.

This latest installment includes images of:

  • C-121
  • EC-121
  • JC-121
  • NC-121
  • TC-121
  • VC-121
  • WC-121
  • YC-121
  • L-049
  • L-649
  • L-749
  • L-1049
  • L-1649
  • PO-1

For the tail spotter, you'll see these aircraft from a variety of time periods to that you'll get representative configurations of the airframe during different phases of its operational life. You'll also be able to see the aircraft in a variety of color schemes. For the modeler, you'll see lots of good details and color information for tackling that next project.

One note about this release: each of these CDs typically come with around 150 images. This release has 214 images, but most of these extra images had been included in previous titles published by Aero Research. If you've been collecting these CDs, you'll see some duplication of images, but if you haven't, you'll be caught up with the vast majority of Connie photos released by Aero Research to date.

This is a nice selection of imagery that you won't find available in such clarity and size. This title is recommended!

You can purchase this reference or any of their other photo CDs directly from their website www.aeroresearchcds.com or via email AeroResearch@Charter.net.

My sincere thanks to Aero Research for this review sample!
