Review
Aero Research has released this nice monograph covering the Douglas DC-4/C-54 Skymaster just in time for the upcoming Revell/Germany 1/72 C-54 Skymaster kit. This is Douglas' first four-engine transport as well as its first nosewheel-equipped transport.
This disc contains 200 high resolution images of the aircraft sorted by model type and tail number/registration number. This disc has numerous examples of the C-54 in US Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard markings as well as examples in service with international air arms. In addition, there is a nice selection of DC-4 and C-54 aircraft in service with airlines around the world. Unlike most of the photo CDs in this series, this release makes use of a few photos of derelict and/or boneyard examples to illustrate unique colors or markings that are not otherwise available. There are also a selection of black and white photos provided as well as the wide range of stunning color imagery.
Whether you're an aviation historian or one of the many anxiously awaiting the new Revell AG kit, this title will provide you with a wide range of possibilities for your review.
You can purchase this reference or any of their other photo CDs directly from their website www.aeroresearchcds.com or via email AeroResearch@Charter.net.
My sincere thanks to Aero Research for this review sample!
