Aero Research has released their latest photo reference CD, this covering a variety of warbirds that have been either flown 'stock' or souped up to compete in the Reno Air Races. As with the other titles in this series, there are some great shots in here that will appeal to the race fan and warbird lover alike. These are the REAL muscle machines!

Once again I used my image browser to scan through the aircraft on the disc and I was quite impressed with the selection of aircraft. In this release, there are an impressive number of racing warbirds and hot paint jobs. When you see the subjects, you'll be amazed at the variety of warbirds that were around the race circuit. These include one or more of:

  • F4U Corsair
  • F8F Bearcat
  • P-38 Lightning
  • P-39 Airacobra
  • P-47 Thunderbolt
  • P-51 Mustang
  • P-63 King Cobra
  • Sea Fury

For the modeler, you'll see lots of good details and color information for replicating these colorful racing schemes. Many of the aircraft presented have multiple angles to help with differences, as well as shots from different years to see the changes in paint, configuration, and sponsors.

According to the publisher, future subjects include: Thud: F-105 Thunderchiefs, F-8 Crusaders Part 1, and Classic Propliners. Each title will be released in two-month intervals.

This is a nice selection of imagery that you won't find available in such clarity and size. This title is recommended!

You can purchase this reference or any of their other photo CDs directly from their website www.aeroresearchcds.com or via email AeroResearch@Charter.net.

My sincere thanks to Aero Research for this review sample!
