Review
Accion Press had sent a number of titles for review and two of them (this being one of them) was inadvertently set aside by mistake. While recently researching armor colors for our expanding online paint reference, I rediscovered this title while trying to find a good reference on Wehrmacht armor colors . If ever there was a one-stop resource for German armor colors, this is the one to find!
The title starts off with basic colors and maps out the RAL color palette used during the war. There is a very nice color chart in here! This color discussion is extended into 54 color profiles of armor examples ranging from early war Panzer I through end-of-war Panzer VI (Tiger) as well as five examples of paint schemes on captured armor. Each of the color profiles discusses the colors used, the theater, campaign, time of year, etc., to put each scheme into context.
This handy reference wraps up with a color table of unit emblems used by the tank divisions, panzergrenadier divisions, luftwaffe, Waffen SS, etc., followed by an extensive bibliography that historians will want to use as well.
While it took too long to get this title in front of you, it certainly made itself known to me when I was trying to find one such useful reference. You're going to want this in your library!
My sincere thanks to Accion Press for this review sample!
