Here's a new modeler's title from Accion Press - The Rise of Fantasy. In this interesting reference, the author describes how to scratchbuild/create dioramas and vignettes to bring a given figure to life. With the growing interest in fantasy subjects from the Harry Potter and Marvel Universes to the Game of Thrones, there is a great opportunity to create a vision without the constraints of the 'reality police'.

As with the other excellent modeling references from Accion Press, this title provides the modeler with skills and knowledge for developing a wide variety of aspects needed to create an eye-catching diorama or vignette. The topics covered in this title include:

From here the author examples a number of examples with step-by-step illustrations on creating that scene. These include:

Even the tried and true armor or aircraft modeler will take away a variety of interesting ideas that will enhance their own projects (I've learned from this as well). Whether you prefer the traditional elf and dragon fantasy world, the characters from the darker side of children's tales, or the high-tech robots and monsters from different dimensions, you'll find this title a handy reference around your work bench.
