Moebius Models has been producing a great range of automotive and science fiction kit subjects for several years now and each new subject is exciting! One of the new subjects is this Viper Mark II from the new Battlestar Galactica series. This initially came out in kit form and has been as popular as the TV series. As with a number of selected subjects, Moebius Models is releasing these same subjects as pre-built/pre-finished models. Let's take a look:

This display model is in fact the styrene kit assembled and finished. It carries the markings of Lee Adama 'Apollo' and you can see how good the finish looks. Whatever process is being used to assemble the model still leaves some of the seams visible. The finish looks factory fresh where the box art depicts a battle-worn finish. There is a pilot figure seated in the cockpit and the landing gear is up and locked. An old Aurora-styled display stand is included to display the model in flight.

The packaging is also well done. The image in the title is the outer sleeve which, when removed reveals the model seated inside a Battlestar launch tube. The model itself is mounted onto a protective tray so it will arrive on your desk in mint condition.

If you're a fan of the BSG series, you probably have one or more of the BSG-series kits from Moebius, but if your time-constrained like many of us, you won't have time to get one on the bench anytime soon. Here is some instant gratification that will give you some distinctive color on your desk or shelf and one day inspire you to render the battle-weary finish on your own model.

My sincere thanks to Moebius Models for this review sample!
