First Look

We've looked at several Hataka paint sets since they started production a few years ago and these started with airbrush-ready acrylic paints which have since been incorporated into their Red Line. These were followed by many of the same colors, also acrylic, but with a higher viscosity optimized for paint brush application under the banner of their Blue Line. Most recently, Hataka introduced their Orange Line, which provides many of the same colors as the acrylic line, but as airbrush-ready lacquers.

Hataka CS73 Modern Royal Air Force Paint Set Vol.2

This set contains eight 17ml bottles of paint with a set of colors that RAF camouflage colors used between the 1950s through 1990s. The colors in this set include:

  • C003 Silver
  • C207 BS PRU Blue BSC381C:636
  • C143 BS Dark Green BSC381C:641
  • C144 BS Dark Sea Gray BSC381C:638
  • C141 BS Medium Sea Gray BSC381C:637
  • C217 BS Light Aircraft Gray BSC381C:627
  • C068 US Army Desert Sand FS30279
  • C262 BS Camouflage Beige BSC381C:389

I will be using some of these colors in two upcoming builds, so stay tuned and we'll see how well these work!

My sincere thanks to Hataka Hobby for this review sample!
