First Look
AK Interactive produces an interesting array of modeling paints and finishes in their growing product portfolio and here's their latest - Primer and Microfiller. You may remember that AK Interactive recently released a new line of enamel-based metalizers under their Xtreme Metal banner. We tried these out on a recent project and were quite pleased with the results. The only problem (not really a problem) was needing to use a primer from another paint company.
To compliment their metalizer line, AK Interactive released these three primers which are also microfillers so you can apply and buff out minor scratches that remain in the surface of your soon-to-be bare metal subject. For chrome and highly reflective surfaces, you need a black primer while with less reflective metal colors, you have your choice of white or gray primers, also with microfiller.
The colors in this series include:
- AK 757 Black (100ml)
- AK 758 Grey (100ml)
- AK 759 White (100ml)
We'll give these new primers a test in the next project to reach the paint rack and we'll report back how they fared. In the meantime, AK Interactive continues to expand their paint line with lots of colors that are welcome to a variety of scale modelers.
My sincere thanks to AK Interactive for these review samples!
