First Look
Furball Aero-Design produces a nice variety of aftermarket decal sets, and now they've addressed another useful area - paint masks. Here is one of their first releases, a mask set for the Hasegawa 1/48 F-8 Crusader series. This set provides paint masks that are die-cut from black vinyl to cover the windscreen and outline the canopy of the F-8 kit. You'll still need liquid mask or other medium to complete the masking of the canopy. This set also provides masks for the wheel hubs, the walkways on either side of the vertical stabilizer, walkways on the stabilators, and on the front of the extended wing box.
This set will definitely speed up the process of masking up your projects and even let you use paint for your walkways instead of decals. We'll be giving these a try soon. They've released a number of masks in this first increment so stop by their website (link below) and see what projects they can help you with.
My sincere thanks to Furball Aero-Design for this review sample!
