First Look
Zvezda has been producing figure kits for some time but have been criticized for soft details in their molds in previous releases. Here is one of their later releases depicting a Soviet reconnaissance trio with a captured German officer.
The figures are more or less designed to assemble as depicted on the box art with one solder squating, one taking a knee to operate his radio, and one standing with his machine gun. The unhappy German prize is depicted bound up though the figure head doesn't have a rag coming out of his mouth (though a good figure modeler could easily remedy that).
Molded in light gray styrene, the kit is presented on one parts tree and is molded in smaller segments to allow for fine adjustments to each pose during assembly.
This is one figure set that would be worth building straight out of the box and setting on an appropriate vignette base as this kit tells a nice story without much help.
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample.
