First Look
During World War II, Soviet medics returned to the ranks more than 72% of wounded soldiers. If we turn these percentages into absolute figures, we get 17 million people! It is three times the size of the Red Army in 1941. Such successful results were achieved largely thanks to the dedicated work of nurses, sanitary instructors and medical assistants directly on the battlefield.
The Zvezda kit consists of 44 parts molded in tan plastic. Molding is good and seam lines and flash are minimal. The set contains 5 full figures. The sculpting on the heads is really nice and the 2 figures carrying the stretcher have the option of a bare head or a head with a helmet. Detailing on each figure is really, really good and delicate. The hands are some of the best that I have seen. Zvezda incorporated the arms and hands for the 2 walking figures into the sides of the stretcher. This is brilliant, because it allows them to mold the hands so as to look like they are really gripping the stretcher tight! The wounded soldier on the ground has his hand molded right to his weapon, again brilliant!
Overall, this is just a great set from Zvezda. Each figure will look spectacular under paint!
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample.
