First Look
Werner's Wings has an ever-growing line of detail sets, conversions, and decals focused on the helicopter modeler who wants to take their projects to the next level. At the 2015 IPMS/USA National Convention, owner Floyd Werner was showing off some exciting new products as well as prototypes for products coming in our future. Here is one of their latest releases.
Here is a figure that will work with your favorite 1/35 scale Vietnam-era helicopter. The figure is case in tan resin and provided as six parts plus a helmet cast in gray resin. The completed figure only needs 3-4 of these parts, the rest are options. The figure is posed standing as shown in the image to the right and holding on to the aircraft with his right hand. You have your choice of three options for his left hand: 1) holding M16; 2) holding M60; or 3) holding a can of 'debriefing fluid'. Two heads are included - one tailored to fit inside the helmet, the other depicting the pilot without the helmet (which can be posed on the crewman's seat in the aircraft).
This figure will look great next to the DML 1/35 OH-6A Cayuse (as depicted above) or one of MRC's 1/35 UH-1 Huey kits. Check this set out as well as the other great scale helicopter offerings from Werner's Wings.
My sincere thanks to Werner's Wings for this review sample!
