First Look
Polar Lights is back with their Back to the Future Time Machine kit with another version of this famous DeLorean. Like the first two kits this kit represents a specific movie version. This time it represents the changes that Doc makes to the car using 1950's tech.
Rather than review the whole kit I'm going to focus on the specific changes to this version. For a review of the basic kit please refer to the earlier Cybermodeler review. Changes to this version include the 50's style whitewall tires and steel wheels with baby moon hubcaps. It also comes with two options for mounting those wheels. First the steel axles are included and second the kit includes adapters to raise the stance to the height as it was in the film. The final plastic change is the inclusion of the "time circuit control tube" appliance for the hood. Other changes are the addition of decals as well as stickers for the license plates. The instruction sheet has been updated with a more traditional step by step format rather than the exploded drawing style of the original.
This is a nice update of the original kit and will be a fun project for the beginner as well as the advanced modeler who wants to see what else can be done with this kit. Nice work Round 2 Models!
My sincere thanks to Round 2 Models for this review sample!
