First Look
Round2 Models continues to reissue a nice array of kits that haven't seen the light of day in decades. This one is really back from the dead (sorry) as the Barnabas Collins Vampire figure hasn't been available in over 40 years. Round2 Models has brought this kit back just in time not only for the fans of the cult daytime soap opera television show 'Dark Shadows', but also for the upcoming film of Dark Shadows featuring Johnny Depp as Barnabas.
Molded in black styrene, this kit has two parts trees plus four separate parts. One of the trees is duplicated in 'glow in the dark' styrene providing the modeler with the option of head, hands, bat and rat in glow versus painted finish. The figure is designed to move the arms and legs a little so you can adjust the pose of your figure as desired.
As with the other figure kits released by Round2, this one is an easy build that will only require some fitting and filling before applying the colors of the vampire's television costume and facial colors. You'll also get to select the optional rats, bats, and spider figures with Barnabas on the display base provided in the kit.
This is another nice release back from the kit archives and it should be robust since this is portraying a vampire on daytime television that should have burst into ashes on camera...
My sincere thanks to Round2 Models for this review sample
