First Look
If you saw Iron Man II, you couldn't help but notice the new character 'Black Widow' (aka Natalie Rushman) played by Scarlett Johansson. Now there is a fatal combination - Johansson with red hair...but I digress.
Moebius Models has released this new character in 1/8 scale to accompany the series of Iron Man figures that have been previously released. This new figure is a simple project molded in tan styrene and presented on six parts trees plus a separate display base.
The face is molded separately to make painting easier and her red hair is molded in sections which also provide a safe way to prepaint (and experiment) with your red/auburn hair techniques.
The instructions provide great painting tips to help you replicate the colors and different levels of reflectiveness each of the materials will have (shiny boots, dull suit, etc.). The floor/base is supposed to represent the tile floor of the office building where she single-handedly kicked some butt in the movie.
As I was searching for information on the actress and character, I also spotted that Iron Man III is due out in 2013 with Black Widow and we'll also be seeing her again this year in another Marvell Comic film 'The Avengers' due out in 2012.
This is another outstanding kit from Moebius Models and whether you're a figure modeler, film buff, or wanting something different to build, this kit is just what you're looking for.
My sincere thanks to Moebius Models for this review sample!
