First Look
Kogar is the creation of Bob Burns – actor, Sci-fi and horror film historian and curator of one of the most impressive collections of memorabilia in the world.
A lifelong fascination with man-in-suit "gorilla men" who portrayed primates in movies and television ultimately led to Bob's own creation, Kogar. Kogar's first acting job was on the "Mickey Rooney Show" in 1955, and was Bob's big break into this elite group of "gorilla men" Kogar proved to be quite popular in his day. In 1974, Bob portrayed Tracy the Gorilla in the original Filmation "Ghost Busters" Saturday morning live-action TV show.
Moebius's kit of The Mighty Kogar consists of just 22 parts molded in tan styrene. There is some flash present, but will be easy to cleanup. Detail on the parts is good and the facial detail is quite nice. The kit gives you the option of making Kogar, Tracy the Gorilla or Bob without his gorilla mask on. You also get t left arm options, either straight or bent. A display base is also included.
A quick build for a weekend or if you like the early monster movies, Moebius have done a nice job with this kit. Recommended!
My sincere thanks to Moebius Models for this review sample!
