First Look
Round 2 Models has reissued another Lindberg classic kit - the 1:1 scale (11 inches long) transparent bullfrog. This is an educational model which teaches the anatomy of the bullfrog which was handy back in the days when we used to dissect these critters in science class.
This kit is molded in transparent green styrene and presented on three parts trees plus the upper and lower torso halves plus for separately molded feet. It will take the modeler some guts to build this model, but fortunately two trees molded in pink provide those guts as well as three trees of off-white styrene rendering the skeleton.
The instructions walk you through the assembly process to provide gluing and painting instructions to render the major organs and skeletal structures of the bullfrog. In addition, a small plate is included with molded-in silhouettes illustrating the development stages of the frog from tadpole to just before French or Cajun cuisine.
This is another classic kit that will be educational to build with your child or simply have on your desk as a conversation piece. Kudos to Round 2 Models for bringing this back to store shelves and I hope they reissue the Transparent Alien sometime soon!
My sincere thanks to Round2 Models for this review sample
