First Look
Here is an interesting product line from a new hobby company called Jasmine Model. This is a photo-etched kit of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, posed over a silhouette of a running man to provide contrast. The kit is roughly 1/72 scale and goes together with some simply cutting, folding, and add a touch of cyano here and there. The kit has a nicely illustrated instruction sheet printed in color to show where to cut, where to fold, and which piece slips into which slot along the spine assembly. Here's what it looks like after assembly:
And here's the photo-etched fret straight out of the package:
The kit does require a good cutting surface to cleanly remove the stubs and a fine pair of tweezers to fold the various bones into shape.
Jasmine Model did a really nice job of creating a photo-etched dinosaur that requires just a little more folding that assembly and should be a relatively quick build. This will make into a very nice display model for your desk or display case.
My sincere thanks to Jasmine Model for this review sample!
