The M4 Sherman tank was a centerpiece of Allied armor throughout the Second World War, and many variants were produced to meet battlefield requirements. It was rugger, unsophisticated, and utterly suited for mass production and more than 50,000 units were produced.
The M4A3 was the major variant of the Sherman series, and was the model chosen to be retained postwar. The M4A3 was powered by the Ford GAA V-8 tank engine.
This kit from Italeri contains parts for two complete 1/72nd scale M4A3 76mm Sherman tanks. Each tank is made up of 12 parts each and is part of Italeri's new Fast Assembly Kit series. Detail is very good throughout and being only 12 parts assembly will be easy. Decals for 3 different tanks are also included.
Designed to be used for wargaming, these kit have plenty of detail and will look good under a coat of paint. My first thought while reviewing this kit was that this would be a perfect way to get kids into the hobby. Being inexpensive and fast building, they are perfect for beginning modelers, but will also be great for more experienced guys you want to do a quick build.
Thanks to MRC for the review sample.
