First Look
The Fw 190D-11 was considered as the following type to the D-9. They were planned to be powered by the Jumo 213F engine and seven prototypes were built. The production Fw 190D-11 was to have no nose armament and to have the new enlarged canopy as standard. Because of the delays of the development of the engine, no aircraft were built before the end of the war.
The Hobby Boss kit consists of over 124 parts molded in grey styrene and 6 photo etch detail parts. All of the parts are molded perfectly and feature great detail. There is no flash present and seam lines are minimal. Markings are included for 2 aircraft.
Paint colors are called out during assembly. The canopy can built in the open or closed position. All of the control surfaces are molded as separate parts. You also get the option of open or closed cowl flaps.
This one should be a fairly quick build. Test fitting of the main components doesn't show any fit problems.
My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample!
