First Look
Fairy Hobby is an aftermarket hobby company from China that produces an interesting array of details, corrections, and figures for the growing number of nice Sino-Soviet aircraft. In this release, we have a PLAAF pilot, circa 1960-70, posing with his hand and foot on a typical MiG boarding ladder.
The details on this figure are quite nice and depict a typical period flight suit, flight jacket, leather flying helmet, survival vest, and even a pair of gloves in one hand. The image below is from the painting instructions and nicely illustrate the details in this figure.
The painting instructions are printed in Chinese and English, so you won't have any difficulties working your way around this nice figure with the paint brush.
Many of my modeling mentors typically pose figures in front of their subjects to add some life and perpective to their projects. Now that this figure is available, we can do the same thing with a PLAAF MiG-15/17/19 project using your favorite 1/48 MiG kit.
At present, you can order this figure and other products from Fairy Hobby by contacting Yufei Mao at haneto0801@hotmail.com. He accepts Western Union or PayPal for payment and will help with postage to your part of the globe.
My sincere thanks to Fairy Hobby for this review sample!
