First Look
The latest entry in the "four figures in a box" sets from DML are four figures in late war winter uniforms. These include a gebirgsjaeger in white parka with skis and a Kar 98 carbine; an MG42 gunner in regular winter parka; a solder in overcoat with Gewehr 43 rifle; and a camouflaged Panzerschrek gunner with Soviet-style furashka fur cap. All poses are static.
The base of each figure is the normal six parts (head, torso, arms and legs) but most of them also have extra parts for the collar and neck area (scarves) and the skirts of the coats or parkas. No photo-etched parts are provided so the modeler must come up with slings or in the case of the skis the binding straps and runaway straps for the ski poles.
Artwork is by an artist named Andrew and is similar to the popular Volstad style. Directions are the usual "stick here and paint like the box art" type.
Overall this is a handy set for anyone doing a winter vehicle and wanting a figure to set it off.
Thanks to DML for the review sample.
