First Look
DML continues its releases of four individual figures in a box which may be used in different settings, but which do not compose a set that can be used together. They are a field marshal in normal uniform with baton, infantryman standing with helmet and cigarette, artilleryman having a meal from his mess kit, and a soldier standing at rest with his helmet off. This latter figure is one of the more impressive DML moldings and one that captures the weariness of German troops in Russia.
Each figure consists of six parts as is the norm – head, torso, arms and legs – and as they are all in “normal” uniforms require no add-on tails or collars. A set of artillery binoculars is included for use but the directions do not indicate with which figure!
All positions are static but appear casual and not forced. Artwork for this set is by Zgonnik and is dated 2009.
Accessories are plentiful but are the usual G and W generic sprues from DML.
Painting directions are the usual but unfortunate “stick here and follow the box art” type.
Overall this set, like many other recent DML efforts, provides four individual figures which are best used as scale representatives next to single vehicle models.
Thanks to DML for the review sample.
