Here's a new kit coming soon from Academy - the 2014 Hyundai Azera. This kit is billed as an 'intuitive build' and if you look at these images, you could probably build the car without the instructions. Intuitive, definitely. If you look closer at that label on the box top, it also says that the car can be built without glue. Looking closer at the parts and this is indeed a snap-together kit but kit has lots of nice details that can be brought out with a little painting.

I stopped by the Hyundai Azera website to look at the interior and exterior color combinations and you could get away with an all-black vehicle, but you'd miss out on some great interior detailing that would simply disappear in that black.

This kit is molded in black styrene and presented on two parts trees plus the body shell, chassis and closed/covered sunroof insert. One tree of chromed parts, one set of clear parts, one set of clear red parts, and a set of rubber (vinyl) tires round out the kit. The interior and exterior markings are provided on your choice of waterslide decals or stickers.

As I mentioned above, the kit is very straightforward with the only real options being a choice of opaque or transparent sunroof and a choice of decals versus stickers. You'll be spending more time painting this car than building it and even with the simplified construction, the AMS modeler can take the extra time to highlight the nice detailing provided by Academy. Who knows, if you spend enough time on the Hyundai website looking at colors and details for this car, you might wind up owning a full-scale version!

My sincere thanks to MRC for this review sample!
