First Look
J's Work is an interesting company producing a nice range of details and diorama accessories of use to a wide range of modelers. In this release, we have a silicone rubber mold for producing pavement stones sized to support 1/35 scale dioramas and vignettes. The 8 x 12 brick mold will produce 96 bricks per pour.
To use the mold, simply mix up your favorite medium - resin, plaster of Paris, Aves, whatever - and pour it into the mold. It is especially easy if you pre-color your medium to the color of the stones you will be having in your display base (reddish-brown, gray, whatever) and pour it into the mold. When it sets up, simply flex the rubber mold to release the bricks and pour another batch, if needed.
General-purpose molds like these are really handy for a variety of applications and making your own bricks will save you the cost of buying packages of pre-made bricks, especially at the inexpensive price of these molds!
You can obtain J's Work details and accessories from Lucky Model.
My sincere thanks to J's Work for this review sample!
