First Look

J's Work is an interesting company producing a nice range of details and diorama accessories of use to a wide range of modelers. In this release, we have an example out of their 'Paper Plant' series rendering nine runs of ivy. Take a look:

Ivy

This is indeed paper and a heavy paper stock at that. You can see color variations in the leaves and these are printed on both sides. These plants are laser cut so they are ready to use right out of the package. To use them, simply cut them from the paper frame, cut the length you want, and apply with simple white glue. These details are quite useful for adding depth and realism to a diorama or vignette since ivy grows up walls, through fences, and anywhere else it can get acces to the sun.

What is interesting is that there are a few offerings of these plants being produced in photo-etch now as well, but in those cases the metal is harder to work with, the cost is higher, and you get less per package. This is one of many plants produced in paper that provide a very realistic result at a very reasonable price.

You can obtain J's Work details and accessories from Lucky Model.

My sincere thanks to J's Work for this review sample!
