First Look
Zactomodels is a small aftermarket company that does some of the most incredible engineering and casting to correct or convert selected beloved subjects. This time around, they've released the super-detailed mast-mounted sight (MMS) system that is the trademark of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. MRC released the OH-58D kit a number of years ago and Alexander Rogal set out to bring the airframe up to current configuration. One of those improvements was a beautifully crafted FLIR ball and pedestal that mounts atop the rotor. Zactomodels has released this as a new set so other modelers can benefit from Alexander's work. Also included in this set are the updated pitch control arms that interconnect the swash plate to the individual rotor blades of the aircraft.
This set includes the two halves of the FLIR ball, mast mount, four pitch control arms, and even the cool lenses that replicate the look of the FLIR sensors nicely.
This is a nice enhancement to the MRC kit and will make your own project look better from this update.
You can learn more about this and other project from the Zactomodels website at http://www.zactomodels.com.
My sincere thanks to Zactomodels for this review sample!
