First Look
Werner's Wings has an ever-growing line of detail sets, conversions, and decals focused on the helicopter modeler who wants to take their projects to the next level. At the 2015 IPMS/USA National Convention, owner Floyd Werner was showing off some exciting new products as well as prototypes for products coming in our future. Here is one of their latest releases.
Here is a new set designed in CAD, 3D printed, then resin cast to create precision parts. This four-piece set replicates the playpus nose mount fitted to the Army's newest UH-60/MH-60 and to the Navy's SH-60R/S Seahawks. This nose mount allows for a FLIR turret to be mounted with some rearward visibility while keeping the FLIR safe from being crushed like the FLIRs mounted to the underside of earlier Blackhawks. This set provides the upper and lower halves of the nose fairing as well as the FLIR ball and gimbal mount. This set is designed to work with the MRC/Academy and Italeri 1/35 UH-60 kits (the MRC/Academy MH-60S already has this FLIR system included in that kit).
My sincere thanks to Werner's Wings for this review sample!
