First Look
SBS Model produces an impressive array of aftermarket detail sets for a variety of popular kits and subjects. Their online store is nicely laid out to show the variety of cockpits, propeller sets, ejection seats, and more that are available directly from their site.
This release is designed to replace the stock Hasegawa cockpit with a beautifully rendered cockpit cast from gray resin and detailed further with a fret of photo-etched parts. This set includes the cockpit floor with is actually the upper surface of the wing center section. To this is added the rudder bar, control yoke, hydraulic hand pump, and other small details.
The instrument panel is photo-etch that has acetate-printed instrument faces that are all laminated to a resin panel. This mounted to a new gun deck with rear of both guns provided including charging handles.
The pilot's seat with lightening holes and photo-etched seat belt/shoulder harness is mounted to the rear cockpit frame which is attached to the cockpit floor and is ready to be mated with the two resin sidewall replacements that are mounted into the fuselage halves. All together this will render a very impressive Zero cockpit.
You can obtain SBS Model's detail sets directly from the SBS Model website.
My sincere thanks to SBS Model for this review sample!
