First Look
Resin 2 Detail has released a nice conversion for the Italeri 1/72 M4A1 Sherman kit. This is a drop-in replacement for the kit turret and renders the Canadian Army 'Skink', an anti-aircraft tank based on the Sherman chassis.
This set consists of a beautifully cast turret (click on either image for a closer look) and you can see the metal casting texture replicated in the turret's surface. The detailing is very sharp and the set includes the four 20mm cannon barrels (not shown) to round out the conversion. While this set was designed to fit the Italeri kit, you can adapt it to fit into the turret ring of other 1/72 M4A1 kits.
If you want a nice alternative to yet another Sherman project, this anti-aircraft tank will make an eye-catching alternative on your shelf and contest table. This conversion can be purchased directly from the manufacturer here: resin2detail.com/?product=172-scale-m4a1-72001-aa-turret-conversion.
My sincere thanks to Resin 2 Detail for this review sample!
