First Look
Platz Hobby produces a wide range of kits, decals, and detail sets for the hobby market and are wanting to make their presence better known outside the Japanese market. You might want to take note as if this is an example of their work, you're going to want to procure some of these various products of interest.
In this release, we have a very nice color photo-etch detail set for their (Platz) 1/72 T-33 Shooting Star kit. This set is produced by Eduard and provides two-layer instrument panels with an overlay with placards and instrument face openings that sits atop a second panel with the instrument faces printed on it. These are accompanied by photo-etched rudder pedals, ejection seat pull-handles and of course side consoles. In short, you'll have plenty to see inside that greenhouse canopy enclosure!
On the outside of the airframe, this set provides landing gear linkages, speed brake pedals and actuators, and other details around the airframe. While the stock kit is nice straight out of the box, this detail set will really make it look outstanding!
