First Look
If you're looking to add a little more detail to the Trumpeter 1/72 Su-15UM kit, here is an impressive bit of resin casting that will meet your needs. This set starts with a resin replacement for the kit's intakes and captures the asymmetrical top and bottom leading edges nicely. The resin is set up to be a drop-in replacement for the kit parts.
The two 'bars' next to the intakes are actually an array of air intake scoops (click on the image above) which are hollow to add more eye-catching detail with the variety of cooling scoops around the rear section of the Su-15's airframe. The casting is quite nice and approaching as close to scale thickness that the material will allow (without being too delicate to handle).
If you want to dress up your Trumpeter Flagon, Pavla has the parts to get the job done!
My sincere thanks to Pavla Models for this review sample.
